The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) has expanded access to its NGX Invest platform with the launch of a dedicated WhatsApp subscription channel, allowing investors to participate in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Public Offers and Rights Issues without downloading a separate application.
The Exchange said the initiative is aimed at making investment opportunities more accessible and encouraging broader participation in Nigeria’s capital market.
In a statement obtained by Fintech Insights, NGX said investors can initiate the subscription process by sending “Invest” to the official NGX Invest WhatsApp number, +234 812 731 9521.
Investors can then follow the prompts to view eligible offers and complete the required subscription steps through the messaging platform.

According to NGX, investors will select a stockbroker through whom their applications will be processed, ensuring that stockbrokers remain an integral part of the investment process.
The Exchange said the WhatsApp integration provides investors with a familiar interface while reducing barriers to participation in the primary market.
NGX targets wider investor participation
The new WhatsApp channel expands the distribution reach of NGX Invest, which already connects issuers and investors through more than 100 channels.
The platform is connected to stockbrokers, banks, fintech companies, mobile network operators and other financial institutions through application programming interface (API) connectivity.
NGX said the expanded distribution network would bring primary-market investment opportunities closer to retail investors while giving issuers access to a wider pool of potential investors.
The initiative is part of NGX Group’s broader strategy of using technology and partnerships to deepen participation in Nigeria’s capital market and improve access to regulated investment opportunities.
NGX warns investors about fraud
The Exchange said investor protection remains a priority under the new service, stressing that subscriptions are processed through the regulated NGX Invest infrastructure rather than directly on WhatsApp.
Investors were advised to interact only with the official NGX Invest WhatsApp number and warned against sharing passwords, PINs, one-time passwords (OTPs) or other sensitive credentials with third parties.
NGX said the service combines the convenience of digital access with safeguards designed to support participation in regulated public offers.
IPO activity drives digital investment demand
The WhatsApp launch comes amid renewed activity in Nigeria’s primary capital market and growing interest in public offerings.
NGX said its SEC-approved NGX Invest e-offering platform has facilitated more than 23 primary-market transactions since its launch in 2024, supporting more than ₦3 trillion in capital raising through public offers, rights issues and IPOs.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO, which opened on September 14, 2026, is scheduled to close on October 13.
Other potential listings are also generating interest in the market. OPay has announced plans to pursue a listing on the Nigerian Exchange, while Dangote Industries has indicated that its fertiliser business is expected to launch an IPO in 2028.
With more public offerings expected in the coming years, NGX said the WhatsApp integration would help simplify access to primary-market investment opportunities and support broader participation in Nigeria’s capital market.
