Mathesis Analytics Secures First Ally Capital Investment to Expand AI-Powered Credit Infrastructure Across Nigeria

Mathesis Analytics, a Nigerian financial technology company specialising in AI-powered credit decisioning infrastructure, has secured a strategic investment from First Ally Capital to accelerate the expansion of its credit technology and deepen financial inclusion across Nigeria and Africa.

The company announced on Thursday that the investment will support the scaling of its proprietary credit decisioning infrastructure, designed to help financial institutions assess and extend credit to individuals with little or no formal credit history.

Mathesis said its technology leverages alternative behavioural and transactional data to enable lenders to make more informed credit decisions, addressing one of Nigeria’s biggest barriers to financial inclusion—limited access to reliable credit data.

A key feature of the company’s platform is Personal Equity, an innovative framework that aggregates an individual’s financial activities across multiple institutions and digital platforms into a comprehensive measure of creditworthiness.

According to the company, the solution captures financial behaviours such as loan repayments, fintech wallet transactions, savings patterns, and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) repayments, providing lenders with a more holistic view of a borrower’s financial profile.

Speaking on the investment, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mathesis Analytics, Winston Osuchukwu, said the partnership with First Ally Capital validates the company’s vision of transforming Africa’s credit infrastructure.

“True financial inclusion cannot be achieved in isolation. It requires collaboration across the financial ecosystem. This investment validates our approach to reshaping credit infrastructure by enabling lenders to look beyond traditional credit histories and recognise a customer’s true creditworthiness through Personal Equity,” Osuchukwu said.

He added that the funding would accelerate the company’s pan-African expansion while strengthening the institutional-grade infrastructure relied upon by its financial partners.

First Ally Capital described the investment as part of its commitment to supporting technology-driven financial solutions that promote inclusive economic growth.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Ally Capital, Ebenezer Olufowose, said the investment aligns with the firm’s strategy of backing innovative businesses capable of delivering long-term value to Africa’s financial ecosystem.

“Our investment in Mathesis Analytics reflects our commitment to responsible innovation and financial inclusion. The company’s pioneering approach to credit decisioning aligns with our vision of supporting technology that expands access to financial services while creating sustainable value,” he said.

Mathesis offers its technology through two deployment models: an Intelligence Layer that integrates with existing lending systems via APIs, and a fully integrated end-to-end lending platform for financial institutions seeking a complete digital credit infrastructure.

The company disclosed that its systems have supported more than 8 million loans for over 2 million unique borrowers in Nigeria and is currently expanding its operations across other African markets.

With the new investment, Mathesis Analytics aims to strengthen its AI-powered credit infrastructure, helping lenders make faster, more accurate lending decisions while expanding access to credit for underserved individuals and businesses.
